Two pathways
Where purpose takes shape
About Aliya
A life shaped by gratitude, service, and curiosity
Aliya Kanji's path runs through Princeton, Harvard Business School, and boardrooms at McKinsey, Saks Fifth Avenue, Staples, and De Beers Diamond Jewellers before a deeper calling took hold.
In 2009 she founded AK Property, a residential development business. Naturopathic training in London reinforced her conviction that health is where everything else begins, and the Aliya Kanji Foundation grew from that belief.
AK Property
Building homes since 2009
AK Property develops residential properties across the UK, US, and the Alps. Founded by Aliya Kanji in 2009, it treats every project as an investment in people and place for the long term.
"I've spent my career building things."
The business is a natural extension of Aliya's earlier career in corporate strategy and luxury retail including McKinsey & Company, Saks Fifth Avenue, and De Beers Diamond Jewellers.
Aliya Kanji Foundation
Changing lives, starting with the basics
The Foundation funds clean water, food, and nutritional supplements for communities across Africa south of the Sahara and India.
"You cannot talk about education, opportunity, or potential until a child is safe, fed, and healthy."
What guides the work
Principles over headlines
Back what works
Decisions start with evidence, not sentiment. Funding goes to programmes with honest track records and the rigour to tell impact from intention.
Whole people, not problems
Communities are people with dignity and potential, not deficits to be fixed. Clean water and nutrition come first, because everything else depends on them.
Giving that compounds
Working alongside organisations, institutions, and individuals so every partnership becomes more effective than a grant alone.
